Guy Fleury was born in Port-au-prince, Haiti. He studied art in Haiti, then moved to Brooklyn, New York. Removed from the art world in Port-au-Prince, Guy created an imagery style of his own. As a contemporary artist, he is famous for fantastic imaginary landscapes, abstract themes and voodoo scenes. For many years, Guy owned and operated a Haitian art gallery in Queens New York.
This piece captures a beautiful Caribbean sunset bathed in orange light. The artist has skillfully trisected the scene, with colorful, concentric tunnels, which forces the viewer to focus separately on its three distinct attributes of his work, the land, the sea and the air.
