Artist Bio

”Casimir Jean was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He started painting at a very early age. He may have been a student of Lionel Laurenceau. He normally paints abstract and semi abstract scenes. He was migrated to Canada in the 80's. His paintings seldon come to market, they are rare and are a collector's delight. ."

Painting Description:

Casimir Jean depicts a young girl caring, loving, nurturing and protecting a group of birds. Hence the title of the painting the "Aviculture". An Aviculture is the practice of keeping and breeding birds and the culture that forms around it. Aviculture is generally focused on not only the raising and breeding of birds, but also on preserving avian habitat, and public awareness campaigns.”
