ONEL - LIONEL PAUL was born on March 2, 1966, in Soissons la Montagne, in Haiti. Lionel Paul, known under the artist name of Onel, is a member of the Saint Soleil artists. In 1989, under Tiga and Levoy Exil, he began to paint in a collage style. Collage artwork in Haiti is rare and existed long before a modern term was used to describe it. His artwork includes recycled textile art that expanded with sawdust and gluing objects.
