Prospere Lafontant

Jacques Prosper Gerard Lafontant began his studies at the Academie des Beaux Arts. He was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti in 1943. Prosper is a remarkable natural draftsman, who finds delight in capturing a women's essence on canvas. His art works are rare and seldom surfaces for sale. Lafontant’s works are covered in the books “Art & Kitsch” by Eva Pataki and “Haiti et ses Peintres” by Michele Philipe. His works were prominently featured in many galleries both in Haiti and abroad. Illustrations of his painting can be seen in John Allen Franciscus’ book, “Haiti Voodoo Kingdom To Modern Riviera”.
