About artist

Decourcelle Gourgue

Decourcelle Gourgue was born on August 24, 1927 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He attended college at the St. Louis Gonzague. In 1957, he began to study painting with brother Jacques Enguerrand Gourgue, an established artist. Decourcelle’s paintings are very rare and are treasured by collectors worldwide. He has held exhibitions in Europe and at galleries in Haiti. Illustrations of Decourcelle’s work can be seen in John Allen Franciscus’ book, “Haiti Voodoo Kingdom To Modern Riviera”.

In a white wood insert and a carved wooden frame.  His works have been exhibited in Europe, the United States of America, and Haiti. MEASUREMENTS: 12" x 16". Overall with frame 14-1/2" x 18-5/8".
