Henry Dubreuil was born in 1949 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Having begun his training with the Centre d'Art, he left to join the Foyer des Arts Plastiques in 1965. His first local exhibition was in 1968. Illustrations of his painting can be seen in John Allen Franciscus' book, Haiti Voodoo Kingdom to Moderna Riviera and Eva Pataki's book, "Haitian Painting Art and Kitsch."
