The Peasant Life
David Rouzier "The Peasant Life"
Painting Description:
The painting of village scenes is one of Rouzier's greatest talents. The painting depicts four peasants going about their daily chores. It conveys a very simple, peaceful life where people rely solely of the land for their survival. The house in this painting is made form rugged board carved out of neighboring trees and the thatched rooftop is made from straw. It is surrounded by lush green vegetation with a dirt path leading up to the entrance. The canvas has a few areas with very light craquelure due to age.
