Artist Bio

”Luckner Lazard was born on 1928, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. His secondary studies were completed at College de Port-au-Prince. He became a member of the Centre D'Art and studied art under the guidance of Dewitt Peters, and many other prominent Haitian artists. In 1951, he was awarded an art scholarship to study art in Paris. His artwork has been exhibited in Paris, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, and Cuba. Lazard emigrated to the United States in 1956 and continued living and exhibiting his artwork in many galleries throughout the United States, Canada, and many European countries. Lazard died in May, 1998, from a debilitating stroke.".

Painting Description:

Lazard specialized in miniature art. He studied for five years at the Centre d’Art before receiving a scholarship in 1951 to study in Paris, France. In 1956,he founded the Brochette Gallery in Haiti and settled in the United States. Lazard's works have been exhibited in Europe, the Caribbean, North America, and Brazil. His paintings are rare and a must for any serious art collector.
