Artist Bio

Alexandre was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. His work is generally concerned with voodoo imagery and market scenes. He was encouraged to paint by legendary Haitian artist Paul Beauvoir. Alexandre died in the early 1980's

Painting Description:

Alexandre has successfully captured the vibrancy of colors of a typical Haitian market scene. It depicts several peasants selling and bartering their fruits and vegetables. The influences of Paul Beauvoir can be seen in his artwork.
