Fravrange Valcin , also known as Valcin II, was born on March 6, 1947 in  Jérémie, Haiti. He is the son of the legendary Haitian art master Gerard Valcin. Gerard introduced Fravrange Valcin to the Center d’Art and encouraged him to paint. Valcin’s artwork depicts both sorrow and misery. He has exhibited locally and in Europe. Illustrations of his painting can be seen in John Allen Franciscus’ book, “Haiti Voodoo Kingdom To Modern Riviera”, Marie-Jose Nadal’s book, “Haitian Arts” and Selden Rodman’s book “Where Art is Joy”.
